A BIG THANK YOU to all Superhero Fundraisers!
Have you thought about fundraising for the smaller breast cancer charities that use 100% of money raised, for research and trials at The Christie and to support women going through a breast cancer diagnosis. We also provide free gift bags and mastectomy cushions which are sent out all over the UK.
People have fundraised for us in the past by organising cake sales, runs, walks and even by nominating Shine Bright as their chosen charity on Easy fundraising when they buy online. Did you know £40 buys a gift bag for someone going through breast cancer and £40 pays for a reiki/reflexology treatment.
Why not come up with your own fundraising idea. You can find us on Wonderful.org where you can set up your own fundraising page. If you would like to get involved and organise a fundraising event then please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We have sponsor packs available with all you need to get started. Thank you for your support.
Dennis Robinson is a Trustee for The Shine Bright Foundation which was set up on the death of his daughter Sarah Bennet. Sarah herself raised a lot of money for charity and it was her wish that we carry on raising money for the fight against Triple Negative Breast Cancer from which she died.
Shine Bright is a non profit Charity run by volunteers and relies on donations to fund its work. So far we have donated £150,000 mainly to Christie’s Hospital for Triple Negative Breast Cancer Research.
We reach out to women with Triple Negative Breast Cancer by… Giving free Holistic treatment like Reiki.
- Giving free Holistic treatment like Reiki.
- Giving free Comfort Cushions to women who have had a mastectomy
- Send Gift Bags which contain, Aloe Vera base products, soothing Skin Gel, Tooth Gel, Deodorant, Hand Sanitiser, Lip Balm, 3×Herbal Tea, Heart or Bee shaped Bracelet, Pair of Cosy Socks and a Shine Bright Leaflet.
For the first time in 10 years, last July we had no donations so that’s why Dennis will be running 10 miles from his home in Crewe to his place of work at HW Coates, Byley Middlewich.
Please donate as much as you wish via this Wonderful.org link, so we carry on our valuable work to help others.
Thank you Dennis Robinson

Tyldesley Swimming and Water Polo Club raise £1750 for Shine Bright
Tyldesley Swimming and Water Polo Club is one of the oldest and most respected Swimming and Water Polo Clubs in the country, in fact it is believed that Tyldesley is the second oldest continuously running club in England having been formed in 1876. Very sadly two of their very special members, Joanne Binks and Jean Fairhurst passed away recently fron cancer related symptons. As Shine Bright had previously helped Joanne the club decided to organise a sponsored swim to raise funds which were to be split between the club and Shine Bright. Joanne left two daughters and had been a member of the club for 8 years. She was their treasurer and Vice President. Joanne loved to travel, so they called the event ‘Escape from Alcatraz and asked their young superstars to swim the distance between Alcatraz and San Francisco, about 2km. However, they far exceeded that and raised well over a whopping £3000, with £1750 being donated to Shine Bright and the money is still coming in, so that amount will increase. The picture shows Joanne’s husband, Nick Binks and membership Secretary, Diana Stafford, and the amazing little people with big hearts. We’re very proud of you all and thank you so much.
A big thank you to the Busy.IT computer shop in Nantwich for having one of our charity collection bottles on their front of desk. Their generous customers raised a welcome £46.96p for us. Thank you so much! Visit their website here.

Mel is running 3 long distance events in aid of Shine Bright
Mel is truly one of our super heroes! Over the next 6 months, she will be participating in the Chester Marathon, Chester Ultra 50 miles, and The Manchester marathon.
After much debate, Mel finally decided support The Shine Bright Foundation. She said “I have thought long and hard about raising funds and more importantly, who I could raise funds for. I have settled on The Shine Bright Foundation, a small charity that is local to where I live, and I have had friends who I know have used the services provided by the charity, it became obvious that this was the right fit. Thanks to all the support they’ve received, they are now achieving their aims”.
If you have anything spare, please click here to support Mel and Shine Bright by donating on Wonderful.org. 🙂
Team Tess… 3 Peaks challenge 2024.
On the 4th May 2024, a group of us will embark on the 3 Peaks challenge: Climbing Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon all in 24 hours. And why are we doing this? In memory of Tess, to raise money for the Shine Bright Foundation that was so close to Tess’ heart, and to raise awareness for Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Over the next 12 months we will be sharing the ups and downs (excuse the pun) of our training. We will be setting up fundraising events and inevitably asking you for money. Please share this far and wide and if you can, and please donate on Wonderful.org here.
All our love, for Tess and Team Tess on the 3 Peaks Challenge 2024. SBF

Fabulous ladies raise money for SB and enjoy a music festival!
Anna suffered from triple negative breast cancer and went through the mangle. Her strong character helped her get through it, and she decided to help others who have the decease. She came up with the great idea of raising funds for Shine Bright by holding a music festival. It took place in August in Aylestone, Leicester. We would like to express our warmth and gratitude to everyone who came along to Festiboob, and made it a great day. To everyone who donated towards this fundraiser, thank you so much… I would like to give recognition to Anna Moseley for all the hard work and to the wonderfully titled ‘Tittie Committee’, Amber Mackay, Sarah Bingham, Melanie Plant, Claire Morrison, Georgia Bell, Jade Lacey, Vicki Dodd, Libby Behrens, Kelly Aelberry, Sarah Kerr and Esther Corns. We know how much time these events take to put in place. Thank you for spreading awareness of our charity Shine Bright Foundation.
Kelly Browne completes Pretty Muddy for SB.
We’d like to share Kelly’s story with you. “I was diagnosed with early breast cancer in January. I was very lucky to have the lump found so early. I have had it easy compared to others and I am very grateful for the support I have received so far. I took part in the Pretty Muddy race for life on 9th July 2022. I chose to raise money for the Shine Bright foundation, as they sent me a gift bag containing things to make my cancer journey a little more comfortable. The items I received were not cheap either as I had bought some myself along the way. I completed the race with my 13 year old daughter, my cousin, my friend and her friend who has suffered from cervical cancer in the past. I have completed the race three times now, as I have lost a few family and friends to cancer and like to support charities who have supported them during their journey. I would just like to give back and promote the foundation, should anyone ever need them. To date, Kelly has raised a total of £712.50”.
If you would like to support Kelly further by donating towards her money raising event for Shine Bright Foundation her donation page is still open.
Many thanks to Kelly for every thing she has done for Shine Bright.
We don’t get many personal statements. This really is a positive affirmation, reminding us that we are doing some right!!
Lots of love
Team SBF xx
